THC-A Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is THC-A?
THC-A (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp and cannabis plants. Unlike Delta-9 THC, THC-A is non-psychoactive in its raw form. However, when heated (through smoking, vaping, or baking), THC-A converts into Delta-9 THC, which may produce psychoactive effects.
2. Is THC-A legal in Kansas?
Yes. Under the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill and Kansas hemp laws, hemp-derived products are federally legal if they contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis. THC-A itself is not restricted, but once converted into Delta-9 THC, its effects fall under controlled substance rules. Our products are lab-tested and compliant with state and federal law.
3. Will THC-A get me high?
Not in its natural form. Raw THC-A does not produce a high. However, once it’s exposed to heat (a process called decarboxylation), it transforms into Delta-9 THC, which can cause psychoactive effects.
4. What are the benefits of THC-A?
Research on THC-A is still developing, but early studies suggest it may have potential properties such as:
-
Anti-inflammatory support
-
Nausea and appetite regulation
-
Neuroprotective effects

5. How is THC-A different from Delta-8 or CBD?
-
THC-A: Non-psychoactive until heated, then converts into Delta-9 THC.
-
Delta-8 THC: Mildly psychoactive cannabinoid, chemically different from Delta-9.
-
CBD: Non-psychoactive and does not convert to THC.
Each compound interacts with the body differently.
6. Will THC-A show up on a drug test?
Yes. Once consumed in a way that converts THC-A to Delta-9 THC, it may cause you to test positive for THC on a standard drug screening.
7. How do you use THC-A products?
-
Raw Flower: Can be smoked, vaped, or infused into foods.
-
Pre-rolls: Ready-to-use and activated by smoking.
-
Concentrates: Designed for dabbing or vaporizing.
Always follow label directions and start with a small amount if you’re new to THC-A.
8. Are your THC-A products lab-tested?
Yes. All products are tested by third-party, state-certified laboratories to confirm:
-
Hemp origin
-
Potency (Delta-9 THC levels below 0.3%)
-
Safety (free from pesticides, heavy metals, and harmful contaminants)
Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are available upon request.
9. Who can purchase THC-A products?
In Kansas, you must be 21 years or older to purchase hemp-derived THC-A products from our shop. A valid government-issued ID is required.
10. Can THC-A be shipped across state lines?
Yes, as long as the destination state allows hemp-derived THC-A products under the 2018 Farm Bill. Always check your local state laws before ordering.
